ASTM D471-P10 Specimen Cutting Die (CCSI-D471-P10N)
The CCSi ASTM D471-P10 Specimen Cutting Die is engineered to produce the standard rectangular specimens required for ASTM D471, Part 10.1, the primary specimen size used when evaluating vulcanized rubber and rubber-coated fabric for resistance to liquid immersion.
Manufactured entirely in-house in Akron, Ohio, each die begins with premium American-made tool steel before undergoing precision grinding, machining, heat treating, wire EDM, sharpening, and final dimensional certification. Wire EDM manufacturing produces perfectly vertical cutting walls, allowing the die to be resharpened multiple times without affecting specimen dimensions for exceptional long-term value.
The P10 die produces 25 × 50 × 2.0 ± 0.1 mm specimens, the standard geometry most labs default to when qualifying rubber compounds for fuel, oil, chemical, or solvent exposure and tracking mass or volume change after immersion.
For the compact alternate and disc-shaped specimen sizes under the same standard, see the ASTM D471-P9 Specimen Cutting Die and ASTM D471-P14 Specimen Cutting Die.
Every CCSi cutting die includes:
- Laser-engraved model and serial number for traceability
- Protective foam-lined carrying case
- Standard configuration for clicker-style presses
- Precision dimensional certification
Optional accessories include ISO-17025 Certification, Arbor Press Adapter, Mallet Handle, NAEF brackets and ejectors, and custom mounting solutions.
